Yet Another Spring Post
I've been reading up on some old suspension threads regarding springs and struts. I currently have KYB GR-2s all around as well as STi Group N mounts and a whiteline adj. sway/heavy duty endlinks. Even with the additon of these modest upgrades, my Legacy still has alot of body roll. I feel like the next upgrade to the suspension should be a set of springs. I've gotten the impression that the H&R springs will lower the car more then I want and even more then the description states(1.25" in the front and 1" in the rear). Also, I am under the impression that springs that set the car too low can actually be bad for the struts? So it seems like a set of Whiteline Control springs are my best bet. Can anyone running them give me some impressions? How is body roll? Is ride quality maintained? How much did they lower the car? Did MRT take forever to deliver the springs? What did you pay for springs/shipping? Also, are these part numbers correct: Fronts: 70198/Rear: 70368? Thanks alot.
Normally I would consider some WRX struts or some STi take offs but the GR-2s are new and it seems like a waste of money to ditch them so soon.

I went with the H&R because they stated it would be a 1 inch drop. It comes pretty close to that. I also went with the AGX's and group n tops. It is a little stiff- ( due to the AGX's I think) but the springs are just right! I run 205/55/16's (wrx size) and I have no issues. I have pics of the completed set-up if you want to see how low it is. I also have pics of when it was stock.
I feel I have almost no body roll. But I also added: GC8 Cusco front lower arm bar, and front and rear strut tower bars. ( I have a adj rear sway, but it has not gone in yet)

Drop height is mostly spring related. I say MOSTLY because dead or shittiy struts can effect ride height.
You may want to look at the whiteline threads and see how long it took people to get their srings.
To compare ship times to ship times, i'll see if we have BC springs in stock when i get into the office on monday.
These have no effect on side to side sway, they DO stiffen the chassis though, making the body flex less, which makes the suspension do it's job better.GC8 Cusco front lower arm bar, and front and rear strut tower bars.

I agree with your post Jason, by having the bars, it makes the suspension points flex less making the suspension move more up and down . But you would be amazed at how well it does that.

Ok this pic was bone stock with the bad shocks and original springs.

This pic is with all the suspension mods and on the RS wheels with 205/55/16's
You can see the drop is not drastic, and around an inch as the wheels/tires combo are a little bigger now.
If i did not do an autocross every now and then, ( knowing what I know now, ) I would have gone with the gr-2's)

whitelines with agx struts took about 4 days to ship. really fast. your part numbers look right.
drop was not signifacant. i like a lower car than i have now but what cha gonna do.
agx's did body roll away more than the springs did.
on gr2's your ride confort should be fine.
i would go with whiteline ultra lows for gc8 but im afraid they wouldnt be able to hold the car up

Yes, along with any other GD/GC spring.Subaru_Nation555 wrote:Are they a direct fit?scottzg wrote:2.5 rs springs would suit your gr2's nicely and the rates are pretty close. The drop is pretty marginal. And ive got some front one's to unload
