Thanks, Phil, you'd be a good candidate for Femme (not that you're gay, but he's tall and skinny), but I already have a friend to model him. I need a woman to be the Diana character. I have one friend who's the right body, a little too petite, but the main problem is her hair's too short. Another friend doesn't have the right body type. I don't think I could ask my ex to do it and since she's friggin' pregnant she wouldn't fit the part anymore anyway. There's a girl who cleans the boats on Thurs. at work that I may have to ask - at the right angle she may be perfect, but her posture isn't self-assured enough to represent a woman who can take out three big dudes with high heels and a pen. I'll figure it out somehow. I need to know more hot chicks. Somehow I don't feel alone in this.

Good to hear, Steve. I'd like a signed copy also. I lost the copy you emailed me before. I got like two or three pages into it and I think my computer died or something. Good Luck and keep us updated. I wish my own writing was going as well but it's good to hear that your story is moving. It's inspiring and motivating to me to see it going somewhere.

my problem isn't knowing hot chicks, it's getting in with them....

I have a friend who could probably take out 3 guys with a pen, although she doesnt' like heels..

about 5'7"-8", she's a top sprinter so she's pretty well built but still looks girly, she has curly hair though

Sounds about right if she has a Mediterranean body (she's Greek). She definitely needs the hips as the pose I'm thinking would be her walking up head on with that hip shift that women like that have. It will be similar to how she shows up in the book for the first time. Diana could have straight or wavy hair, but past the shoulders either way. I have a friend who's the right height and hair length, but doesn't quite have the hips and it would probably be a cold day in hell that I'd likely see her in any kind of decent clothes.

she's got a thinner figure but she does have the hips, and kinda wavy hair.... and she's a model to boot, what does she need to do again?

One of my best buddies is greek. He's got a temper on him but he can be as cool as a mountain spring other times. Greeks are strange...I mean interesting.

I'm Greek myself. I don't trust those people.

All she has to do is pose for some pictures wearing a form fitting dress or skirt and relatively tight top with heels. There's no nudity involved unless she wants to be.

I figure I can sit around worried about debt and waiting for rejection letters by people who haven't even read my junk or I could sit around worrying about some more debt but have a book out and maybe get some money back from it. Plus now if I tell chicks I'm a writer I can actually show them something impressive.

To paraphrase Kurt Vonnegut, "For some reason writers always seem to have good looking wives." We'll see.

UPDATE: a guy I work with has an uncle who runs a publishing company and he'll submit my manuscript to him for me. Maybe someone can pay me to get it out after all. I'll give this a shot, but even if he isn't interested I'll still do it myself, however there may be too long a delay to get it by the Shootout dammit.

Grrr! The bastard owner of the marina pissed off the guy I was going to give my manuscript to and he left before I could get his number or anything. I need to get a printer so I don't have to drop it at the copiers. Well, maybe there's still hope for the Shootout.

Midnight ... is about three misfits who've ended up working for a non-religious cult. When one of them finds out something about the cult's activities that she can't live with, they all decide to try to get out together.

The series focuses on Dante, a weapons transporter, as he tries to cut ties with his past and figure out where he belongs in the ordinary world.
