what is this

Post by NICO »

its a sensor under the boost controler and the map and pressure sensor its got a green wire and blk-yel in a white clip?

it has the same plug as the factory boost controller and its white, also it only came on a at turbo legacy cuz my mt turbo legacy never had one.

i need to no what it does and how to get rid of it? cuz i dont need it and if i unplug it it makes the boost out of wack.

So, you don't know what it does, but you seem pretty sure you don't need it?

I think you're talking about the dropping resistor. It's on all automatics. It's a rectangular doohickey in a ceramic package?

Yep that's the dropping resistor, the plugs are white on turbos and black on non-turbos, go figure.

Don't worry about it. It's not a sensor; it's a resistor that's put inline with one of the automatic transmission's solenoids or something. With your 5-speed transmission you don't need it.

well when i first got a AT turbo legacy, i had to change all the sensors on the passenger side. all the wires got all messed up becuse of age in my MT legacy turbo. i seen that the sensor had the same plug as the boost controler car side one, so i pluged it in the MT legacy boost controler car side, becuse it would make this dame ticking noise very loud.

i forgot what the feel of the power it gave me when i plug that sensor in the factory boost controller car side, but any ways i put it in the engine on the passenger side fire wall, and it fell out under the car and hit the car behind me. but i didnt no what happend becuse it sounded like a crazy noise flying under my car, the next day i was thinking where the sensor whent, and whent back to where it got flung out and it was sqwased flat on the road. so much for getting rid of the dame factory boost controler noise.

also HAPPY FRIDAY 13 DAY EVERYONE
