I have the EJ22 out of my FWD subaru rite now, is there anything i can do before i piut the new EJ22 into that will help? like cheap modifacations or anything?

It'll be easier to change the VC gaskets, as well as the rear seals, crank seals, etc. -- basically, any of the seals.
Have some headwork done? It'd be easier to have them right in front of you as well...

I'd just replace the head gaskets, cam and crank seals, and do the timing belt/water pump (if not done recently) as it's so much easier and you can be sure it won't leak oil for a few years.
