Stereo Pinouts

Post by kidwired »

I thought it would be nice to have this all in one place. Got anymore? Post up.

93-05 Legacy / Outback / Baja Radio Connector Pin-out
http://www.geocities.com/svxdc/Legacy-pinout.htm

this article shows the 14 pinout for a 93, mine has the 2 connector he mentions.

13-pin DIN Connector on the back of a '92 Subaru Legacy Panasonic 'Premium Sound' Car Stereo

Adapter is scosche pn SU02B

This is confusing, my part number matches the panasonic in this article and yet I have a 10 pin... and an 8 pin for speakers.

Anyone?

It depends on how they do the dimming and what adapter you use. The Metra adapter only has a wire for the positive side of the illumination circuit. Using that wire will give you on-off dimming with many aftermarket stereos... I would imagine that most stereos that do continuous dimming would require the little circuit described here: http://www.graphics.cornell.edu/~v/dimmer/
