mods for my 90 legacy

Post by gardner44 »

ok i have a 90 2.2l N\A FWD legacy (for oval racing) want more power. so i've been reading about getting a 2.5l block and putting it in. seems easy enough. just wondering how much extra hp and torque do you get? would any 2.5l block fit?
any other good mods for a 2.2l. been looking around and didn't see to much for a 2.2l N\A.
also would anyone have a 2.5 block for sale, or know where to get one?
would 1.8l heads fit on a 2.2l if so would you get any extra power out of that?
thanks

a stock ej25 is rated at 165 hp. 35 more than you got in there now.

an ej25 short block w/ej22 heads and cams will be a bit more than that.

not sure how it revs in the higher rpms though w/stock ej22 cams.

So does anyone have a ej25 block lying around? also another thread said to use the head gaskets for the ej25 is this correct?
thanks
