I've been saying this for a while now but AFAIK, all stage 1 kits use a heavy duty pressure plate w/ an OEM style (or equivelant) organic disc.

Nah, the ACT kit looks like a stock WRX clutch disc with their heavy-duty pressure plate. I'd definately invest in the new OEM clutch disc after looking at those photos of the disc you've got, this is the sort of job you don't want to cut corners on - because the next thing you know, you'll be dropping the tranny again to change the piece you skimped on.
