Ah yes, IC installed

Post by Tleg93 »

I finally got me IC installed yesterday. It was a little work but nothing too bad. I did have a bitch of a time with the diverter valve plumbing. It's odd but my car seems slower with the IC. Matt seems to think I have a leak but I hit fuel cut and that tells me that the MAP is seeing 12 psi. I need to install that FCD now. :)

Do you have a boost guage? I bet your boost level is down a few psi = less power.

Boost down a few psi, so ECU compensates for the pressure drop and ups the boost, it sees 12psi and cuts.

It is faster, but only for 3 seconds at a time before it cuts fuel.

I don't know at this point. I opened up my mbc so that I'm running minimal boost. I got to a party last night and my coolant system was boiling. The turbo coolant send line was bubbing through the clamp.

Was the car running way hot?

Sounds like you might have a bad thermostat... How often did/do your radiator fans kick on?

I don't think it's the thermostat because I'm not overheating. The car just gurgles when I shut it off. The temp gauge says I'm ok, unless it's broken. Even if I turn my boost up, the car runs like poo. My diverter valve seems to be loud, could that be the problem? Maybe my coolant tank cap isn't sealing properly. I reset the ECU after install and it didn't help at all. The IC doesn't seem to leak so I'm at a loss. I hit fuel cut when I turn up the boost so if I have a leak it must be at the MBC or something.

Mine was bubbling like that when I had an air bubbles in the system. Opened up the coolant tank, and it was dry inside. Just filled it back up and voila! It went away.
