I needed a new speedo cable and that my rear tires are badly cupped. They also said that the sound is possibly knocking and that I should use high octane fuel. I don't know about that last one but it looks like I need new rear tires...
Tomorrow I get my exhaust put on.

exciting!
It's likely that if you're not putting at least 92 in it, it is knocking. Buy some octane additive.

meh, I use 94 every time. He listened to the sound again and said that if it was his car he wouldn't even give it a second thought.

I had what a mechanic friend thought was knocking, until he heard it again next to a wall. Turned out to be wastegate flutter.
