I need help!! One of my brakes locked up.
I was driving along yesterday and notice a smell like burning brake. I pulled over and looked and the drivers side front brake was smoking. After I let it cool I drove home and parked it. I pulled the wheel off and looked and the brake is fully engaged. The disc looked like it got pretty hot I hope it did not worp it. Can some one help?

You can try pulling off the caliper and freeing it up, but you might end up buying a new one. I do have a working front caliper to my wagon if you need it.

you should shit-can the caliper after a burn like that. it may free up but is sure to screw up again
now would be the time for a full front job, doing one side is bad form, and a locked caliper is a sign of bad maintenance in the past so your other front may follow
rebuilt calipers may be a good route, then new rotors and pads, but surely a WRX take-off set would be the best value if you don't mind having to run 16" wheels. Throwing my old 14" wheels in the trash was the best thing I have done, at that age they tend to be bent anyways.

That beer you are drinking cost more than my car

Absolutely, I would love to get a set of 16" rally gold rims and a set of calipers and brake but that will cost a good bit. I thought I was running solid until this. I still have some of after market stuff laying around that I been wanting to put on but not until I can find a reasonable brake solution.

my friend wants to sell me a set of wrx calipers for $100 but then I have to get new rotors. He also had a set of rally gold 17" 7.5 48mm offset rims that someone bought from underneath me for $175. That really hurt. I am thinking of saving up for something after market what are some good suggestions.
