If I remember it's close to 1/2" and I just used straight heater hose.

little metal cup...?

Yes, if its just a straight or almost-straight piece of heater hose then it should be no problem to replace with a length from an auto parts store, and yes a standard screw clamp would work fine.

zuh? They do too sell 1/2" heater hose, they sell it all day down at discount auto parts and autozone - its standard crap. Thats odd that you are having trouble finding 1/2" heater hose.

They were probably too lazy to go get it........

I don't get why the stock hose was molded the way it was. It seems to have kinks and bends for no good reason.

Are there any of the coolant hoses that have any kind of restrictor or check valve?
