91 Legacy L ej22t swap

Post by Psychoreo »

I'm in the middle of the swap from the ej22 to the ej22t and i'm looking for other things i could do to improve the power, handling, and fun of my 91 legacy L sedan. I'm pretty sure it has the pink sti injectors on it, but what else can i do to get more bang for my buck per say? I've done some research and B+G makes springs for it, but thats another thread. I'm looking for fuel delivery systems, turbo apps, and cooling options. Also, i keep finding those weapon R intakes. Any thoughts on those? THANKS!!!

I did the same has you last year, first thing first, get a good suspension. Adding b+g spring to your stock setup won't be good enough. Get slightly used wrx shocks with stock legacy turbo springs or any wrx springs. Then while your there get new engine mounts and whiteline steering rack bushings.

Then swap the brakes with wrx or legacy turbo setup, or at least put on new discs and good pads, ebc green stuff or kvr.

That is the least expensive way to get a balanced car, and if you swap the ej22T get new hoses all around and replaced all the lines you can, thrust me it's worth it

#1 The pink injectors on your swap are the stock Ej22T injectors. Nothing STi about them

You thread is a little confusing. You are polling interior or suspension mods, but what is seems to me is that you want more power.

As for more power and low end grunt, start with the exhaust and an MBC. There is close to 20hp to be had from getting rid of that lousy stock downpipe. And then turn up the boost a couple of psi. If you want to run above 11psi on a daily basis, then the Sabb 900 or other intercooler conversion is strongly advised...

thanks for the info... yea, the poll is supposed to read suspension, interior, or further engine mods but i forgot to click the add catagory button as i am a rather newb on this forum. What would i be looking for with that saab system? Turbo and intercooler i'd assume. and how would i go about cranking up the boost? i'm thinking 8-10 psi should be fine for now until i replace a fiew other things to get it track ready nest summer.

Don't buy an intake.

I've been happy with 130hp and some (light, but thorough) suspension work.

this thread is so vague!

ok, well specifically i am looking for ways to improve the low end torque and Hp by replacing and/or upgrading parts on the engine itself. The intake question is because i don't actually have the stock pipe for the turbo intake. 130 may be fun for around town but i've got some wagers vs mustangs to settle!!
