Any Tour Followers?

Post by G-reg »

I know there are some cyclists around these parts, who's TV is going to have OLN on for most of July? The best thing ever to come out of Texas, Mr. Armstrong, definitely laid the smack down already. Even if you don't like Armstrong there are quite a few other Americans who have a chance at a good showing, the first day saw Americans in 1st, 2nd, and 4th. Just watching makes me want to race something

I've followed it pretty closely for the past few years. OLN has great coverage.

I just read about it in the newspaper, no cable TV here. I'm just hoping some canadian will try to jump over the peloton again, dont really give a damn about road biking

Yea, Dave Watson rules. That was back in 03, this guy did a 20ft road gap over the back of the peleton. He checked up his speed and cased it pretty good. Check out New World Disorder 4 if you want to see some tape.

Discovery didn't completly lay to waste the competition as they were expected to, CSC was only two seconds behind including the crash. That being said Disc's average speed worked out to be 39mph. I'm an avid cyclist and have competed on the national level. And I can barely sprint to 39mph in the flat, and these Mo-Fo's hold it for an hour. Given these riders have really nice TT specific bikes but I don't care how nice the bike is, if you are wailin' on a 55/11 gear your a bad ass.

And got arrested....

But he gapped the tour, and that makes him cool.

The "Disco's" didn't finish very well on stage 8, LA being the only one finishing in the top ten. T-mobile and CSC had most of their riders up in the top 20, Disco's biggest rivals. So either Discovery is playing possum, or are not as unstoppable as previously expected. This may get interesting.
