93 legacy turbo

i have some question on my turbo legacy,i just replaced the rear diff because it run extreme hot n leaking oil,but after i put in a new diff on the car ,i have the same problem ,the diff run really hot ,it melt the diff holder bushing.the car felt like dragging something,not smooth like it use to be.i am sure i have fill the correct amount and type of fluid.please help me?will a defective cv axle cause this problem

Incorrect ratio would be my guess. You are probably doing significant damage to the transmission.

the label on the diff say ratio 3.9 .it is the same as my old diff,what make the diff to generate so much heat?
