I own a '93 NA legacy and was wondering what I can do in the way of tires and wheels as I am beginning to modify my car. I want to fill up the wheel wells a little bit and was hoping that you guys might have a suggestion. I have 185 75 R14's right now and was thinking of either going up to a size 15" wheel or maybe just keeping the 14' wheels and getting a set of 195 14" 70's. My local subby shop says that increasing my overall wheel and tire size could harm my transmission. Any suggestions?
I put 195 14" 70's Dunlop Sport A2 on my moms Blue sedan. She isnt interested in speed or anything. Looked great, they are good tires too. Probably the best traction for the dollar in all seasons. They actually have decent snow traction!
I have 15" wheels with Falcon ZE502's that I'm very happy with - good turn-in, grip (much better than the more expensive Pirellis I had), and they don't mind sliding around much. They also handle well in New England weather and less than 60 bucks a pop.
