It DOES feel good to be back to work. I don't YET have the stamina that I used to but I'm confident that I WILL BE BACK to that level or BETTER! (It's not just trying to convince myself with positive thinking, I truly feel that way. My exercises have already increased my strength in some areas compared to before the accident.)
I'm doing an exercise program. But I'm looking to having a special type of treatment done that was recommended to me by a friend who's an awesome chiropractor. He would do it for me but he's a good 1,500 miles from me. The treatment uses cold laser and he said he's been using it for over two years now and the results have been phenomenal. The doctor that he recommended in my area is about 45 minutes to 1 hour's drive from me. So, it would be helpful to have a car and money to pay for the treatments.
If you lived closer I'd help you get a car cheap. Glad you're doing much better!
Steve
Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.
That's great that you're confident about how it'll be. The old saying that what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger is sometimes true; after an injury you can come out ahead because it forces you to care for yourself properly. I read once that diabetes actually lengthens many peoples' lives because it forces them to eat healthy and such.
I've heard about the cold laser treatment, in the context of carpal tunnel syndrome. I'd be curious to hear more about it after you begin.
I know you didn't ask for my advice, but I really think you should consult a physical therapist. I've seen PT make a dramatic difference in how quickly and how well an injury like yours heals, even in conjunction with chiropracty.

Thanks, Steve, that's kind of you. I hope I can find an inexpensive one around here. Maybe a Legacy for under $1000 will go up for sale that I can drive for awhile will turn up.
Vikash, while I didn't ask for your advice I truly do appreciate it . Thanks for your concern; it's well taken--I know it comes because you care and feel that it can make a considerable improvement. I actually welcome all well-meaning advice and direction from anyone. I've always felt that if a person thinks he's got the asnwers to everything he's quite unwise.
As regards PT, I feel that you're right--it should make for an improved recovery as well as recovery time. . . . Hmmm, I was about to explain why I haven't done that yet and just thinking about the reason why I haven't done it has just given me an idea that I didn't think of before. I know how I can make it work out! I'll go in on Monday and start the process of getting PT. Thanks!
