Awesome launches, suck ass ETs.

Post by douglas vincent »

So the Forester flywheel and 6-puck disk give me great launches. I can now consistanly get 1.970 ish 0-60' times. But then the 300 lb gorilla of a flywheel eats up my acceleration. At least thats what I am figuring. My best ET tonight was a 15.4, but with a 1.971 0-60' time. Two months ago I was getting 15.2 but with 2.1 0-60-times. somethings funky........

I am actually pretty damn fast when moving. But accelerationg from gear to gear from a stop seems to not work as well.

Guess I will be pulling the motor once again, to install a new flywheel!

All in all though the wagon ran great at 7 psi, with NO detonation. I have no clue why.

Everyone is a noob at first.

Last night there must have been 150 cars. Probably 20-30 of them there for the first time.

And then of course there was the Viper that went sideways at the 1/8th mile mark and het the wall and totaled it out! He got noobed.

Heavy flywheel is better for launching.

Doug... are you still using the stock Legacy "short shifter"?? I would recommend replacing all that and get a real shifter. Might make shifting alittle easier and probably more fun.

I shift pretty fast.....but I must admit I am a little scared after shattering 2nd gear.

But even with the mental hesitation I may have due to the fear of breaking a gear, I don't think it is a .5 sec worth.

Keep your shifter. I haven't really liked how any of the newer short shifters worked with my tranny.

I wouldn't personally go short shift either as I've always been able to beat my synchros without it.

Has anyone here seen dougs shifter? Its the stock setup, minus the shifter knob and rod... just the little rubber nipple that sticks out of the console LOL

Maybe add another 15lbs to your right foot.
