I got toys!

Post by BAC5.2 »

First and foremost, I should recognize my friends shop. He's given me numerous tidbits of knowledge, allowed me to lend a hand with transmissions, taught me a great deal about gears, and lets me hang out in his shop. GearboxTech.com. One of the best there is.

Image

Next up, what has been my drivers seat for the past 2 weeks. A JDM Version 4 STi seat. It's for sale, $275+ shipping. It's extremely comfortable, aggressive looking, and all around sweet. You truly feel pimp rollin with this seat.

Image

From the front:

Image

A peek under the hood... Almost looks like it should have come like this. No more ugly pipes, or tiny intercooler. One that actually stays cool!

Image

And the reason my JDM seat is for sale....

Image

Momo Rookie 1-peice, Fiberglass race seat. 12.75lbs, ample padding for my 160lb frame, and tight enough to keep my ass from sliding around. It's sweet. The second one is floating around my girlfriends house somewhere, just gotta find it and I'll have the pair.

And because it looks mean....

Image

And the rough outline of how it will look with the front mount. I intend to leave as much of the stock black vertical and horizontal bars as possible, I also toyed with the idea of removing the license plate and filling the void, but I decided against it. What is in gray is what will be seen. That's end-tank to end-tank width, but the tapers to the inlet and outlet are going to be hidden slightly behind the bumper skin, so you'll see ALLLLLL of that goodness. Scary lookin, eh? Please excuse my poor Paint skillz.

Yes, RE070's in 225/45/17 trim.

I'm the definition of hardcore. When I can replace a 30+lb seat with a 12lb-bucket, I will.

Of V4 STi seats?

If you do it right, you don't need the passenger side. I, however, do. I have a girlfriend, and we take my car lots of places.

I can't afford a girlfriend and a car. Although, if I didn't buy car parts all the time, I suppose I could. I'm just waiting to meet someone who likes Subarus.

That's some nice stuff, Phil. Good thing you covered your license plate, or I'd totally steal your car.

A few weeks ago when I bought some WRX rear calipers the shop had some V7 seats, and I wondered alould to the owner how they'd be in my Legacy. He said it was the second time he'd heard it that day.

That sticker looks kind of crooked.

Hey Bac5.2 I think you need to buy my JDM fogs for your front bumper, that would give your car the pimp look it's already got, but in spades.....Let me know if your interested.

looks great.

For some reason I don't think fogs would fit very well with front mount tubing though

Very nice and clean but how do you keep your IC from rubbing? I am installing mine this week and baffle on how to keep it from rubbing.

That seat is pimp. Fogs fit with fmic's if you route it right.

Thanks guys! I'll worry about fog lighting after I get the FMIC plumbed. It never really fogs enough here to necessitate fog lights, so in all honesty, I have no use for them. Perhaps some form of driving light might be better though.

There is also a fairly large gaping hole in the hood now. I got antsy with my air-cutter and decided to cut in my WRX hood scoop. I need to do a little finishing, and it'll look a lot better than it does now. It's carbon fiber, and not color matched, but it doesn't look half bad. I'll finish it up tomorrow and take pictures.
