Looking for a Soob shop in North Central PA
A friend of mine in Milton just got a Legacy wagon from her grandfather. She's going to be needing some work done, and I know there are a handful of ya's in that area.
Are there any shop's around that do a good and fair job with Subaru's?

Williamsport Auto has the best labor rate going (like $36 per hr) and they do good work. They have something like 90 parted legacy's on site too. They're about 25 minutes north-north west of Milton.

I say you should go with Williamsport Auto too but, just be forewarned, they've left some things undone on my car when I got it back in the past, namely, they left my pcv hoses unconnected. They blew oil all over my engine bay.
EDIT: for clarity.

They've always done quality work for me. I love the place and highly recommend them.
Wasn't it just the one PCV hose, that came off the valve cover gasket, that they left unhooked? Pretty small mistake in my book, I've done the same thing before myself.

No, it was both valve cover hoses. They also refused to repair my turbo when it siezed up and they've said they wouldn't use parts that I brought in. I'm only relating my experiences with them. Sorry, but that's just what happened. They're a lot better than Kinley's Subaru.

Really? I thought it was just the driverside. That's the one I left unhooked the one time though, so maybe that's why I was thinking that.
I think their refusal to repair or work on your turbo is a personal thing, to be honest. They've quoted work for me that involved the turbo and I know they've worked on other turbo Subarus too (involving work to the turbo).
They've also quoted work for me that involved aftermarket parts. Maybe I just have a special relationship with them and they're making an exeption with me (when it comes to aftermarket parts) but I don't know.
Either way, IMO I still think that they are the best thing going, locally.

Personal... well that's a slap in the face. The only thing I've ever done to them was to tell them that they left the hoses unconnected. They never even said "oops, sorry about that." In hind sight, I thought it was odd that Kinley's offered to do the turbo replacement and even offered to use aftermarket parts for an upgrade when Williamsport Auto didn't, especially since Kinley's usually won't do stuff like that. I guess I must have pissed Wmspt Auto off. If I did then I have no idea why she'll still do work on my car at all.

I still go there to have my car worked on. I've just had some issues with them in the past, that's all. I've been to W&L too, so far they've said they'll do work on my turbo. One thing I would say for sure is that AR Kinley won't work on turbos at all. They told me this years ago. There's a guy that works for them that will, or at least used to. I don't know if he still does. It's useful to know that Kinley's, AR Kinley's and Linda from Williamsport Auto are all related.

How about any local indie shops that know the ways of the Subaru??
Or even if any of you guys would be interested in doing a timing belt/ spark plug weekend for some extra cash???
I'd offer to do it, but between the racer and my own and Melissa's fleet, I don't have any extra time to be maintaining other peoples cars...
as a funny side note, between me and Melissa, there are six Subaru's; Brat, GL 3 door coupe, XT6, SVX x 2 and my 97 Legacy... The only two running at 100% right now are the oldest (Brat - 86) and the one with the highest mileage (97 Leg - 223,000)

I still say you should go to Williamsport Auto. They're fair and they get the job done. Their mechanics are able to things done. It's just that, for some reason, I've had a couple issues. Like I've said, I still go to them. In fact, I have an appointment for tranny service this Tuesday.

I'm located down here about 20 mi South of Harrisburg. I don't know of any places really willing to work on Subies. I either do my own work, take it to a friend of my dad's, or take it to CVM (Cumberland Valley Motors). Although, CVM is murder on the wallet, but I'm pretty sure the do good work.

Thanks Matt, Scott, Sam... I'll pass on the info for Williamsport Auto and Buck's in Lewisburg.
Manarius, NO WAY
I've seen you over on SVX.net looking for one. If I see any in my travels, I'll let you know...
