I like how they don't even know what the coffee mug mod is, and yet they're fine with ragging on it. Some people

Never once did I say it was impossible, just that it's difficult (time consuming) but I guess you're too busy being cool to actually read. [/golf clap]

Thanks for the input Steve, Laurel and everyone. I'll look into it and see how much it costs. Sorry there was a fight.

It took a year to collect 4 forester 16-inch, 5 spoke wheels,from a wrecker
The body shop didnt want to touch them. All those spidery
blemishes and cracks. The wheels were true and I got them
sand blasted and powder coated for $50 Cdn.The cost of each,
all up was $170 Cdn.

That is an awesome deal on the powdercoating.

Around here, it'd cost about $50 per wheel.

Whereas, I painted 2 sets of wheels for under $20.

One set I sanded for hours, and took my time with. The other, I yanked off of my car, sanded them a bit, then painted with very little prepwork.

Even with only a little prepwork on the second set, the haven't chipped or anything like that. They have, however, begun to fade because of something else.

The first set looks much better, though, because I put alot more time into prepwork.

When the regular body shop refused to sand and paint the wheels,
I wasn't about to try it.

The price for coating seemed right and the speed shop I deal with
have the frames of their race cars done there so I knew the work would be good.

Gun metal gray and black spline lug nuts look good on the simple
Forester wheels
