First Time auto-x in the legacy

Post by dscoobydoo »

This Sunday, I will be joining some locals in an autocross event.

It will be the first time for me in the Legacy ( as previously, I have always run in the RS)

I will get pics after, and I am curious how I will do.

Sadly, I am going to gut the intercooler set-up and go back to stock so I can run in STS.

good luck.

i suck at driving so i placed last in my first event. and 6th or so from the bottom in my second. i was in SM. in the second event if i had more runs and if my car stayed together the last run i would have done better.

OK, Sorry that I don't have any pics, but the run was just the $#!ts

And for all of you who have never autocrossed before:
Tires are as important as the suspension set-up.

I had a free set of nitto 450s and put them on the original turbo rims. ( as my usual tires are some cheap cooper all-seasons)

Well, lets just say that in about a month, I am selling the rims and the tires are free to a nice home!

I left more rubber on those corners than I have total in my life!

We also run an 01 RS and that car has great tires, but does not have all the suspension mods the Leggy has.

The RS could have run circles around me in the Leggy.

That and the course was so bad that almost every person either took out a cone or got lost and missed a gate ( I succumbed to the latter of the two)

and the day was dark, so pictures would not have come out so great. But one of the guys who is on here showed up for a bit and watched the madness.

Remember: Rubber= the only thing between you and a bad accident! ( ha ha - I love the double pun!)
