its a 5 speed...but i have one wheel off and its up in the air so i can get to the bolt and the pulley. and because of this the wheel in the air turns when i turn the crank pulley, even when its in gear. i do have an impact wrench but i didnt know if i should use it on the crank.
so in other words i need something to stop the wheel from rotaing.

yea. did you try the "put it in 5th gear"? i believe that since its most likely an open diff, you have to get that wheel on the ground. put it in 5th and with the e-brake on. should start to come right off. bolt should be pretty tough to loosen so give it some muscle.

This is what I was going to suggest.irishsetter wrote:I just put a socket and breaker bar against the frame of the car and bumped the engine over and it came right lose. The pulley pulled right off.

you need to put some more MUSCLE into it. You won't damage anything if you're on the bolt correctly

to do mine I put it in 5th and hauled the ebrake up as far as possible. With a 1ft breaker bar on top of my large 3/4 ratchet I had no trouble getting it off. Got the new one on as hard as I could and checked it every day after wards. you wont need a puller to get it off, it slides right off, you may have to bump it a little but nothing special
