What wheels were those?

Post by Busdriver »

a while back someone posted a picture of a white wagon in the snow at a ski lift with black wheels.
The wagon was sold by; someone else on this board.
I really like those wheels and need to loose my hubcaps.
Any clues what wheels those were, does anybody have them fs??

Well.. if you can find the thread with the pic, then we'd have more to go on... find it, and you'll be closer to an answer.

PS. I like how you've been all three replies to your own thread!!

Stock, the GT rims are a silver-greyish in color, (IIRC) and came on any year the Legacy came in GT trim. BTW, those be rare wheels, if you find 'em, buy 'em, you probably won't see 'em again for awhile, unless you can talk a GT owner into upgrading their rims..

Here's a pic, though:

They're a very hott rim. 8)

And how many sets have you passed up buying?

Legacy GT owners don't tend to upgrade their rims, mostly because A) The GT wheels are sexxy and B) because the Legacy GTs are bought by mostly non-mod-minded people.

Jake agrees with me. They don't come up for sale very often. His came off of a wrecked GT (of which there aren't too many, either) , and were an absolute straight-up steal. But one can always get lucky, can't they?

They may not be incredibly common( like wrx wheels) but they are by no means "rare." The statement that the GT wheels are sexy is merely an opinion. Your statement that GT's are purchased by non-mod-minded people also has fallacy. Legacy GT's are coming down in price, and becoming more available to young people. With young people owning a (relatively) high displacement car, there comes an interest in modification, be it only cosmetic. Besides, how many legacy GTs do you see around? I see quite a few.

WOW those are sooo sweet,

Tristan are those on your Legacy??

Laurel I haven't seen a single GT down here in So Cal, but since you see them fairly often, would you be willing to let me know if those wheels become available up there?
and one more question that will p you off what is the high displacement difference of the GT?

I'm sure there's a few down there, you're just not looking hard enough.

I have the all-too-common WRX wheels, and I'm rather happy with them. They handle pretty damn good, and they'll probably fare better now that I'm (RIGHT NOW) getting new rubber.

Those are my wheels. They came with the tires for 300$. It was a steal. I see a set show up on craigslist.org maybe once a month, and usually they are about 300 w/o the tires. There are a lot of GT's in my area.

werd, I'll agree that you'll be hard pressed to find someone selling Legacy GT wheels. They are pretty hott, when they do sell, they usualy go for nearly as much as a cheap set of aftermarket wheels. I've been looking on fleabay for a month or two and seen nothing other than a few single wheel sales for $100+ for one wheel. You can get a whole set of WRX wheels for around $250 ... that's what I ended up doing.

Legacy GT wheels are hotness :)
