I've seen a 91 legacy swapped with an EJ20T, mechanical part is easy, but you need to swap the whole dash if you want a cluster that works. The wiring is the biggest problem.
Everything mechanical fits right in.

I've done the swap. you need to swap a Maf wire, change the Maf from a Hitachi to a Jecs model and add 4 wires from the ecu to an ignitor, then another 4 wires from the ignitor to the 4 coils. OR you can keep your ej22t wiring, and swap over the coil pack from you 2.2 and put it on the 2.0, a few people have done that and it seems to run ok.
