reset aftermarket em?

Post by 93Leg-c »

I wasn't able to find the answer to my question, so here goes...

If a piggyback or stand alone em is installed then the engine is performance-tuned, will the performance tune be "un-tuned" if the battery is disconnected for a length of time?

It shouldn't be, but that depends on the EM. Most EM's store the tuning in a ROM (think I got that right) which doesn't go away when power is cut.

Right, I've never had to change my settings because of disconnecting the battery.

Josh was looking for NVRAM, which is writeable, but Non Volatile, so it doesn't get reset when power is removed.
