New paint on the turbo Legacy!

I finished installing all of the parts after painting my Legacy. I chose to paint the mirrors the same color as the car. I removed all of the moldings, door handles, mirrors, grill, hood scoop, etc.. The car looks awesome with the painted mirrors.

This was a big project to be a every day driver. It turned out very slick and nice. I also buffed the tail lights and rubed out the yellow head lights.

How close are you to Charlotte? I visit there pretty often, also usually am in Winston-Salem for a bit.

How much was the paint job and what all was involved?

I am about two and a half hours west of Charlotte, just out side of Asheville.

I did all of the body work myself and a friend painted the car for me. We trade out work so I don't know what a paint job like I have would cost.

I only had door dings to glaze in and clear coat to remove. I primed and blocked the car getting it ready to paint. As far as involvement; I removed everything from all of the lightd, moldings, door handles, mud gards, etc.. Everything but the glass. IMO you have a better looking paint job without the overspray and tape lines when parts are removed before painting.

I agree. Whenever I get my car painted, I'll be removing the majority of stuff myself as I don't trust anyone with 10 year old plastic bits. It's a long way off before I even think about paint, but I'm always gathering info. for the day when I'm actually ready to get it done. Thanks!

Just had all the rust on my car cut out and replaced. Sills seam welded, fenders rolled, all dents and blemishes fixed, poorly fit (by me) aftermarket fenders refitted correctly and the car repainted. They removed the bumpers and even got behind them. They painted the car better than new (no orange peel)! I love her even more now. What a difference! To me it was worth every penny ($3200). Screw what the Blue Book says.

The car's a shade darker blue, also. Didn't realize how faded it was before.
