Installed 2.5RS tranny!

Post by mhrallyteam »

My good old 4.11 legacy L tranny was shifting alright but the center diff was shut. So i bought a 2.5RS 4.11 tranny for 300$ and went forward wih the swap.

I have turbo engine but my tranny was cable operated, so the swap was fairly easy.
You need to : Replace the shift fork, you have to use the legacy fork and move the ball on which it rest to the other position. there is two positions for it on the 2,5rs tranny.
And trim the clutch cable mounting plate to fit, the tranny casting is interfering but a little trimming does the trick.

And that's it, the car pulls much much better now, i think the gearing is quite different but the final is the same. The car reacts diffently with a good center diff, the tail is harder to swing just a bit.
