Ground Controls and GR-2's

Post by climbingjunky »

About two months ago I had some GR-2 struts, Ground Control coilover sleeves and Eibach springs, installed on my 93 Legacy. I have to say that I am really happy with how it turned out. The handling is noticeably stiffer and it fixes a lot of the body roll issue you get with the stock springs. The whole setup wasn't too bad price wise, $400 for the coilover conversion kit and about $115 for each strut, after taxes it came out to under $1000.

Wow, you could have had a true coilover suspension that won't blow up within a few thousand miles for not too much more.

Gr2s aren't meant to handle too much rate.

Saying that I could have gotten "real coilovers" for not much more doesn't make sense. My setup cost $860 and the setup that H&R has is like $1800 normal and almost $1600 on sale, thats double what I paid. If I could have afforded the H&R I would have gone that way, but I didn't have another $800 to a $1000 dollars just laying around.

Here's a set of tein coilovers, well under 1000, and all you would have to do is change the rear top mounts.
