The other day....

Post by Tleg93 »

I was running around doing some errands in my '93. I was stopped at a friend's house and when I went to take off I heard a loud slamming sound coming from my transmission. I was in third gear but the car was in manual. I looked down and noticed that I must have accidentially bumped the manual button on the shifter. I've had the car bog down when this happened before but I've never heard that kind of noise coming from the transmission. I've been smelling burning gear oil since the last time I took the car to a local shop to have the transmission flushed. Fluid levels look ok. Does anyone have an opinion on how long I might have before the tranny goes bye bye?

Hmm, now the car won't go into power mode. I don't think it will be long. I'll make this unanswered thread my breakdown log, geez.

Oh, I realize that, I was in auto at the time. This morning, on the way to work, I kept punching it and it wouldn't go into power. I've been slipping in reverse, dropping out in manual and now I can't always go into power mode. It's all good though, I'm going to swap in the mt.
