A couple of snapshops of the wagon "offroading"

Post by Fishy »

The Wife commanded that I take her out shopping the other day so to make my day suck less I took a detour through one of the local gravel pits. Unfortunately this was about as adventurous as I was allowed to get with Mrs Fishy on board nagging at me :-D

Basically I was playing around with this dirt heap using it as an RTI ramp of sorts. The open diffs prevented any further forward motion at this point. However I backed down and changed my angle of attack the second time and we went right over without so much of a scrape.

Hehe, nice pics. That's a clean paint job too.

I can see the look on Mrs. Fishy's face now, "I married this guy?"

I used to take my Roo wheelin with the wifey and kids onboard. There was this basin by my house with a sick hill on it. I would crop it into 1st and just creep up the side of the hill. I used to watch jeeps struggle to make it up the side of this hill. They would get pissed when I would go through the sick mud too and they would get stuck.

If anyone has ever lived in Lakewood, CO then they would know which one I am refering to. Almost on the corner of Wadsworth and 285, back in the business park. You could see it from Wadsworth as you were coming up the hill to go toward littleton.

When I left CO they had roped it off but people just drove over the rope.

I also took it out to Idaho springs, CO to some level 3 trails out there. I outclimbed my cousins 4wd (non-locked) dodge durrango. Boy was he embarassed!

Thanks for the compliments, I should go out sometime withOUT The Wife on board and rough up the car a little for some better pictures! She doesn't see the point or fun in off-roading at all so it's hard to get away with much with her there. One buddy of mine has a 4x4 chev (suzuki) tracker which seems pretty capable for such a small truck and my other friend just picked up a 93 impreza so I'm trying to get the 3 of us to go pretend wheeling sometime. We'd at least have the Tracker as a rescue rig if one of the cars got stuck good :D

I'm so jealous of your car. You have my dream bodystyle/paint/engine combination... without a roof rack.

I was sorta wishing for a roofrack the other day but this car came with some other dealer add-ons instead: sunroof deflector, cargo floor liner, cargo cover (everyone else seems to be missing theirs), and a big chromey step plate thing on top of the rear bumper.
