92 with dead wipers

Post by r-monster »

Greetings,

I did a quick search but did not find much on this topic. I have a 92 legacy and the front wipers have stopped in the upright postion and the wiper spray doesnt work as well. It was fun driving home in a downpour yesterday.

At first I tried to manually push start the wipers and they did move one time but are now stuck in the upright position.

What should I check? Is it likely the wiper motor?

Thanxs,

R

I'd check the fuses first. After that i'd say your culprit is likely the wiper motor. GL. If you do end up replacing the wiper motor, would you mind taking photos and doing a quick writeup for the board? It would be much appreciated!

Thanxs for the reply. All fuses functional.

The other stalk mounted functions on the wiper side do not work( washer), therefore I am getting the wiper switch replaced. I have heard that the wiper motors are very durable and do not fail often, the mechanic said the switch is likely the culprit.
