general comparison

gday

having had a fair few problems with my last and first car (daihatsu applause) i am looking to get a rs liberty (legacy, i am australian) and had a few queries.

my parents have owned subarus and i know them to be reliable and capable of running for ever, in our experience.

i have been unable to track down a specific list of specs for the engine in the rs, the best i got was the details on the redbook site ( www.redbook.com.au ) which i will say was a little ambiguous. such as is the engine in these an ej20t or an ej22t, if it is the latter, why so being a 2.0l if it is an ej20t does that make it the same engine as in the wrx.

also wondering about the intercooler. whereabouts is it in the engine bay. sounds like a stupid question i know, but having not poured over a stock rs in person, just modifieds and internet pics of standards, i cant make it out, unless it is a water to air. but i couldnt find that information.

what sorts of common problems if any are inherent to the rs. leaking header tank i have heard of among other random small things.

thanks for listening to my ramble, and i appreciate any information.
