I went there and saw they sold the Sprint's with the bracket, slider and some other stuff for $340. They sell the seat for $185. That means they want $155 for the mouning stuff. I don't need a slider as only I drive my car and I don't ever need to slide. I need fixed mount. I'm going to call them when I find out from the CHCA scrutineer if these seats are legal for competition if they will sell just the bracket to mount the seat to the floor. Thanks for the lead homeslice.

Surprisingly, the brackets are sometimes the most expensive part of aftermarket seats. My buddy got a used Recaro for $75 or so and the bracket to mount it was $130

Grant - Thought there might be some other options for your seat quest. Try http://racing-seats-usa.com as they have Sparco and Corbeau seats. It is also a bonus that they have free shipping on seats. A while back I bought the Corbeau Forza with mounting bracket for $300. I like the seat, though it needs some lumbar or kidney support (sold separately as always). I could use a narrower seat as I am skinny dude (5'11'' about 165). If you’re interested in other impressions let me know.

Thanks Marshall. I had forgotten about Corbeau. My co driver already has a Forza seat too so that way I could get away with only buying one and an extra bracket. There is some Ford performance shop in town that sells them at a pretty good price too.

I really need a better seat. My stock one was crap to begin with, and with it worn out....it sucks even more. Plus the auto seatbelts do nothing to hold you in place.

I would like a tan seat to somewhat match the interior......or possibly black if I can't find a tan one. I don't think I'd buy a seat without sitting in it though.....which unless I can find a place in town that sells them.....it limits my choices.

That's how I am too Josh. I was so scared when I ordered my helmet. It fit well though. I am going to go with the Corbeau Forza because the bracket is cheaper, my co-friver already has a black seat, they are five point where as the Sprint is 4 (though you can just run it over the seat cushion), it's FIA approved, I've sat in it and like it, and lastly, it is cheaper!

Just a quick note for the guys who are considering putting better seats into road cars:

When I've done this in the past you tend to drive your car much harder in corners because you feel much more secure in your driving position! This can have a negative effect on brake/ty(i)re/suspension wear rates.

Also your passenger(s) can get a bit vocal if you forget that they DON'T have huge side bolsters holding them in place! :D

Make sure you order the sparco kidney supports while your at it. They are pretty cheap and if you can get past the fact that you will have mismatched brands they really help when goin' slideways. Also, with the Forza you sit down alot lower than with the stock seat, so driving position and angle all change a bit. You will need to mock up a mounting bar for the anti-subamrine belt on a 5-point. I don't think SCCA rally inspection will let you get away with the belt mounted to the bracket (which is easiest). This brings up two more issues. First, I know the seat is FIA approved, but I'm not sure the bracket is. It’s adjustable so to be sure you might want to find the ideal spot then remove the seat and bracket and weld them fixed. Second, my bracket didn't fit quite right in the car. It took some persuasion to get all the bolt holes lined up.

I think it will be welded in and I could have a bar welded in when the cage goes in for the sub belt. Thanks for all the good info. I won't have a passenger seat except when my co-driver's goes in. Plus that way the dog can fit in the car better :D
