I'm BACK I love you guys!

Post by ej2294legacySS »

:-D Hi everyone, I was formerly ej2294legacy but as you can tell I bought an SS model and I wonder why i ever drove anything else?? Aside from toyota(i am a solid axle 80's yota man :D ) subaru is the best car in the world.

My old 94 wagon started a rod knock and it went to the scrap yard, since then i have been tuning and racing 80-91 toyota corollas with 4A family engines.

Last wednesday I was driving through a winding road I know very well and was apexing a right hand corner in MY lane when the sun shined through a gap in some trees in front of me. I drop my visor and my vision clears just in time to see a TRUCK, full size chevrolet coming right at me in MY lane.

Needless to say i didn't get out of the way in time and we hit HEAD ON, my car glanced off the front of the truck and my seat belt kept my teeth in my head so i could properly countersteer the huge slide that sent me arcing across the head on lane and into a vally that was about 200 feet deep.

I rode the rodeo strait to the bottom and should have been killed or injured or sore. I climbed the hill and made sure the other driver was ok and flagged down a car to call the athourities. needless to say my brothers company car is destroyed and all but hey, no one was hurt.

To the point, I am glad to be back! You are the most helpful, and intellegent group of car guys on the internet that I have found. Thanks for the past and futer help, I hope to post some vids of this winter wonderland soon :P

Subaru RULES!!!

I've heard of a few amazing stories of Subarus saving people in extraordinary crashes (instead of the lab standard ones they test for). I'd take an old Legacy without airbags over a brand new Hyundai with 2-stage front bags, side curtains, table cloths, etc.

Good to hear you made it. Did they get the idiot in the truck? Can you say chronic lower back problem?

Holy shit, glad you're okay. That must have been one hell of a ride. I pressume the truck driver realizes how lucky he was too and that he's taking care of any costs.

Welcome back :).

Whoa! What an experience! Glad you made it out alive!!!

Although with that kind of hit, no matter how good of a shape you're in, you may want to get checked by a competent chiropractor or something. That kind of huge jarring to your body usually does put a couple of places in your body out of kilter.

I re-read your post and I'm not clear about it -- were you driving a Suby then?

It was my brothers 90 corolla

Post by ej2294legacySS »

The car was a 90 corolla sedan, lowered so the chassis was 4 inches above the ground, small "lip spoiler" on the trunk and a full air dam and splitter in the front. The suspention was complete, camber, caster, shocks, coilovers, new A-arms and bushings, and to top it off the motor was the frowned upon 4A-FE engine. the toyota had an 8,000rpm redline, power to 7,800rpm, and it was dubbed the "RESPONSE MONSTER".

The car showcased MY ability to come up with an insane vehicle. It couldn't do jack in the drag, but it was unreal in the corners! It was 4 corner counter balanced with an average 165lb driver inside and 1/2 tank of gas.

Mine's built a R34 and you can see it is SCARY responsive, this corolla my brother and I built over 2 years was similar in the way it reacted INSTANTLY when you touch the controls.

My new legacy is the "next" PROJECT car for the small buisness my brother and i have.

Call me what you want to but a little sneak peak into the vehicle that will be unveiled to the legacy comunity soon is named, respectively, "Subaru WRX (preceding model)".

Its about time someone took a new aproach to MODIFIED cars and did something new. I am the artist and this world is my canvas. I gotta go work.

see ya all

subarus, IMO, are already pretty responsive on the throttle, compared to most cars, so you should have fun :-)
