How to lower boost?

Post by Subtle »

The idea of lowering boost may be heretical to these pages

However at winter temps on mountain roads, I have a modest drivability problem. The torque converter on the built 4eat has a different stall speed which seems to spin too much at 3000 to 3500 rpm.

Then on third gear cornering it's difficult to feather the throttle to get the appropriate acceleration coming through and out of the apex. The surging
torque converter and rapid zoom up in boost with the VF11 makes for some on-off spiking in performance.

That's at the lowest setting at 7.5.

Perhaps this can be eased by dropping the low setting to around 5?

If so, how can it be done :?

Connect the vac line from the compressor directly to the wastegate actuator. This will give you ~5psi all the time.
