The Rally Legacy in action

Post by rallylegacy57 »

Here are a couple of pictures of my 1990 Legacy L AWD rally beater in action. I picked he car up in August for $300. It has 265,000 miles on it but has survived the rallycrossing so far.

That looks fun. If I ever move somewhere that has rally-x, It'd be cool to pickup a cheap used legacy.

I am curious as to why you have your windows up. Is it a rule? Is it cold?

Well it isn't a rule in our club. They recommend it but you will want to keep your windows up after your first run that you slide sideways and engulf a huge pile of dust.

Nope you leave the windows open with the fan blowing till you get ready to run then you close everything and sweat to death for the 70 seconds or so the run lasts. Cross the finish line and open all the windows up again. Then repeat for your three runs in each heat. When I ran the WRX I would leave the AC on till I ran but the Legacy doesn't have AC.

That pic was taken almost 2 years ago though, and none of the stuff that she's complaining about now is really related anyway...

We won't be running an official event until February. I will post on here if the guys start getting impatient like I figure they will and we decide to run an unofficial event. Missed seeing the Turbo Legacy out at the last event Sam.

Nice! I'd probably make it down for a January event.

Yeah, I considered coming down to the last one if you had done it on Saturday. But Sunday wasn't going to happen. It would have been like this:

Race all day Sunday -> drive home 5 hours Sunday night MAYBE if my car isn't broken -> wake up at the crack of dawn exhausted -> take GRE exam

That didn't seem smart. But anytime I don't have a big conflict, I'm game!!!
