SWEET! One day I want to have an XT. They're just so awesome.

I heard somewhere that Legacy/Impreza suspension parts bolt into the XT... Can anyone confirm or deny that?

I read in some Subaru training lit. when I worked for them that the XT had the lowest drag coefficient of any major manufacturer's car to date when they built it. We always called it the cheese wedge. Fun cars to drive. Reminds me of Spaceballs for some reason. :D

Yep, that was true about the coefficient of drag.

I love the flightstick-style shifter and the way the dash tilts with the steering wheel, too.

what was the drag coefficient of that car?

I think the svx has a really low number.

I seem to remember it being 0.29.

The SVX is essentially the second generation XT, and if I recall correctly, it also has a 0.29 drag coefficient.

Im almost done with the suspension. My first welds weren't very pretty so Im going to ground them down and redo it. Then I ran out of wire :?

subyluvr2212: Seems like alot of money, its not even turbo. I would have sold you mine for that much and it has less than 100k miles.

And ship it over to Florida?

A used XT isn't easy to find on the East coast...

I had a girlfriend in high school that had a turbo xt. That car was super fun to drive. She'd be like "lets go to a movie" and i'd be like "naw lets go for a drive". Cool cars. :)

Not ship it. I looked at the pictures, the interior is in good shape. I take it back. Now all you need is a donor xt6 :D

I don't know so much about the XT and XT6's mechanically... Does the XT6's engine have more potential than the XT turbo's?

The XT turbo wasn't intercooled stock, right? So I would imagine you could do well with an intercooler, intake, exhaust, and lightly increased boost...

Those fighter-aircraft shifters fit the regular GLs, too. Had one in my old wagon. My friend had a turbo XT and that thing was deceptively fast. Very stable at speed, too. Nice cars. Saw one on ebay last year that someone had converted into a wagon. Actually looked OK, but I'm partial to wagons... Anyone else see that thing?

I don't have any plans for it currently. I am really buying it for a second mode of transportation. I've got a few things that are starting to require attention in the Legacy, and I can let that car sit and take my time with it while having another Subie for transportation.

I'm also picking it up this Sunday, not Tuesday, can't wait that long

I decided that I was too young to sign my life away on a Forester Turbo. I'm 19. I don't need a $400/month payment for 6 years. I would rather have two cars to play around with (read: have WAAAY more fun ;) )

This wasn't a fantastic deal, ciper is kinda right. I haven't been screwed, but neither did I get away with robbery. That's about what it's worth. But vrg3 is also right. Finding a XT, in that condition on the East Coast, especially in FL, is very, VERY difficult.

The XT6 is a 2.7 flat-six, whereas the XT Turbo is just an 1.8 EA82 with 120hp. Mine has 110hp . Sure the Turbo has some potential, but I'm sure more power could be extracted from the 2.7 6cyl...

And although I don't have plans for it currently, who knows what the future will bring

Holy crap! I was wrong! I got more than a deal, I stole this car, guys!!!

I drove it home today, it performed flawlessly on the 110-mile drive home, and I noticed something truly remarkable when I got home...

I saw an "Air Suspension" light on when I turned the key, had just noticed it. I was actually kinda steamed, knowing the problematic system. Then I looked in the wheelwells and strut towers... THE ENTIRE SYSTEM IS BRAND NEW!!!

That means that just the suspension alone has some $2000 worth of parts, and I bought the car for $1625...

If I were to sell the car, I'd ask a cool $2500 for it, or swap to conventional suspension and sell the parts for about $1000...

I really found a gem here, guys. This is a special Subaru for a special Subaru owner...

Dude, source the conversion parts now. You can make ALL THE MONEY BACK by selling the air suspension components! If you need help just ask, I did the conversion recently.

Ive seen like new air struts sell for 200$ to the XT group, 100 for usedworking ones. Uncut lines and working compressor assemblys are also worth something.
