help! what should i do? motor options

Post by urabusturbo »

yesterday i blew up my subie motor, an ej22t with 200000 hard miles on it, i think the last snowstorms parking lot fun did it in, i want to keep the car but i am faced with a few difficult decesions, i have a non turbo automatic legacy with a good motor that i want to swap in for now so i have a car, but i dont know what that will involve to match up the n/a motor to a turbo leg. eventually i would like to buy one of the motors on ebay but i am not sure what that project involves. if i bought an ej20tt, ej20t, or a ej20g would it bolt right in and match up to my car perfectly, or is the all sorts of crap to be fabricated and bought to make it work? i am on a tight budget and would like to get some advice on the most cost effective soultion, i would love to hear from you guys that have had success swapping in the motors off ebay and would like to know what to expect. i bought my car for 1200 and have invested close to a grand into it, i would hate to give up on such a bueatiful car with so much potential.

Post a want in the "parts shed" for a new engine for the parts you need to fix yours. It would most likely be cheaper to fix your car then to be swapping out the engine just to put another EJ22T back in.

Don't waste your time or money. I'm sure someone on here has what you need.

You will need to swap crossmembers if you want to run the n/a motor. Other then that, it will physically fit, however there are electrical issues/mods.

What Josh is saying is....Fix your EJ22T as you will be sad with the performance of a N/A engine.
