hmmm yeah i saw that one -there isn't a whole lot of objective information in that thread. There's a lot of jibberjabber about specs in that thread, but no specs. except for the one spec about the ej20tt head volume, but then two people had conflicting data. then there was some other volume spec but they didn't say which engine they were talking about. so... i ignored that one. part of the reason i wanted to start this one in fact is that it's nice to have all of the data be in condensed form (not spread among 10 pages) and it's nice to have credible accurate data. So everyone can be happy and less confused and crap like that and find things fast. So i guess if i can i will try to compile everything in my first post of this thread. i could use some help though because i only have a FSM for the ej18 engine and nobody cares about that engine. well i used to care until the ej22t came into my life. now i check the going rates for cast aluminum regularly to see how much $ i can get per pound of ej18-harharharhar

The reason you see conflicting information on the head volume of the Ej20's is because we were talking about 2 different engines. The head volume on the EJ20 has changed 3-4 times since it was introduced in 1989. After all, we are talking about 15 years of production and probably a dozen distinct variations of the motor as used in both Legacies and Imprezas.

Those numbers aren't accurate. If you add it all up by the math, you don't arrive at the numbers they produce.

That's why I started my other thread.
2009 Outback 2.5XT. 5MT. Satin White Pearl.
2009 Impreza 2.5i Premium. Blue.
