where can i buy parts for a five speed

i've been searching around the internet trying to find a 2nd gear for my 5 speed gear box. it's from an 02 wrx. it's seems funny how 2nd gear is "notorious" for breaking yet none of the "subaru performance" sites sell gearbox parts. i've seen a couple sites with replacement straight cut gears, but they want a couple thousand a set. i just want to replace the gear. and not at dealership prices.

We sell gearbox parts....

You can't just replace 2nd gear. 2nd gear is machined onto the input shaft, so replacing just second gear means replacing the entire input shaft. Expensive. No way around it either. Blown second requires a new input shaft.

PPG offers a 1-2 gearset that replaces the factory first and second gears. The kit is $2000. To get the 3rd and 4th gear in addition to that, it's another $1500.
