my junkyard experience today

Post by Bheinen74 »

first off, I was at this same junkyard last fall in Nov and got my windshield and visor and power antenna off a 82K mile 91 sedan LS. for the last 2 months I have wanted to go check the rear diff so see if for some lucky chance it maybe had the LSD dif.

And I i was in need of a knock sensor cause mine is throwing a code, and my oil pressure sensor has a leak too.
Went back to the same junkyard today, as it was warm today about 40 degrees. They moved the car since last, but it is still there. First off, someone had already grabbed the knock sensor (let down of the day number 1), and they got the injectors and some other good stuff too. So, I jacked up the rear and wiped off the dirt from the diff sticker. This was when the 2nd let-down of the day occurred. Just a regular 4.11
so I trounced around, finding another 91 legacy wagon, again, knock sensor gone. But to my luck there is a 3rd legacy and it had the sensor. So I get it removed, and find it has a small crack on the plastic outside casing. Anyways, I decided i would give it a try, knowing it may be bad.
The day got better, when I come accross a 90/91 CRX si, and it still had some goodies on it that I bought just to try and sell on ebay for a profit. Anyway, back to the subaru saga. I got a few other parts I needed like a belt tensioner pulley (mine has a bearing that is making some noise) got the hold down clip for my hood prop, found 15 cents in a car......the normal junkyard day......fun....
I plan on going back again in a few weeks to see what other finds are there to flip on Ebay.

Nice. Last time I was at the JY I scored (4) less than 10Kmi injectors with rails for $10.00. Now I live in FL and there are NO Subarus in the yards down here.

I miss CO.

Where in Florida? I'm near Tampa and have scored all kinds of Subaru's in the U-pull-it's around here....

Everything from a '91 Leg Turbo motor, rear-end & brakes to a 1972 Subaru FF1...

Seems like the '90 to '94 Legacys are the most common Subaru's I find...

I live on the other coast. If you take 60 east you will be only a few miles from my home once you hit 95.

There isn't shit for Roos in the JY's here. Subyluvr lives in Orlando and I think he has the same problem. Looks like we might have to take a trip to tampa. What do you say Mike?

How far are you from Deltona? I know there's a U-pull there that usually has a few Scooby's, that's where Grassroots Motorsports goes to pull parts for their Rally-x Impreza...
