hey guys,
found a few other posts about the pinch bolt shearing off and having to be drilled out and get a new bolt/nut. which im going to have to do.
so as you can see in the following pictures i was able to get my knuckle and control arm off but not apart (untill i cut the BJ) and after much torching and hammering with a big sledge i have accomplished nothing except mashing the BJ stud a bit. I bought some pullers, the forks all to no avail at all.
my question is what would you guys suggest as a means of getting my new BJ's installed without buying new control arms? should i just drill out the center and keep trying to hit them out or what?

oh and i forgot to mention i can easily more the hub in and out like .25-.5" so i assume this is a bad bearing and the cause of my wandering stearing. anyone have good advice on how to replace the bearing myself too? i can get access to a press.
bought a gear puller, didnt do anything. I did end up drilling it out in the center and giving it 2 good whacks and it came right out so looking good. I drilled most of the pinch bolt out and soaked it with some PB for the night and am going to see if a bolt out will work.
Worse comes to worse ill just drill the whole thing out and put a new bolt and nut in. Also hopefuly get some new bearings and have her running for work monday (i hope)
mmmm yes quite good results. ended up drilling out the entire bolt from the knuckle and buying a new bolt the same size but longer and put a nut on the end with locktite and a bunch of torque. http://photobucket.com/albums/c389/Thre ... %20Joints/
also ended up getting new bearings put in the front, just payed a guy at my uncles gas station to press them as i had to access to a press. drives much much better, ABS works properly again
got some new stuts in too to replace the beyond blown ones and all in all its a totaly different car then when i bought it, drives and stears much tighter and safer feeling http://photobucket.com/albums/c389/Thre ... SS/Struts/
just waiting on my whiteline sway links to get in so i can get an alignment and then on to a new turbo, trying to find a td04 90deg for now
Nice! MAkes removal of the bolt later on much easier I imagine.
I had the air suspension on my legacy and it was causing me mucho grief, so I bought used strut assemblies and replaced the two rear struts with new ones, used the two front used ones (low mileage, met guy through UMSB). That's when my ball joints started to worsen immensely. I thought it was just the need for an alignment at first, but after checking it out noticed significant play in the driver's joint.
