Idle help please

I did swap the TPS early in all of this mess. It didn't have any effect at the time. Maybe I have corrected the problem and it is time to revisit the TPS. The most important thing is that the car is not dying anymore, just bouncing from 500 to 1200 and back. But now this symptom is starting to subside and it is idling correctly, some of the time. Thanks for all the help.

What year did they run....which way...over there?
When did it change?

First-generation Legacies have the TPS signal go from near +5v at idle to near 0v at WOT. Imprezas and 2nd-generation-on Legacies (and all later models) go the other way around.

I think you guys kept the first-gen setup around for a little while longer than we did. I'm pretty sure a 95 WRX is that way, for example.
