My mechanic does turbo clutches for ~$900.
Knock sensor is on the block under the intake manifold.
Air control valve? If that's the same as the bypass valve for idle, then that comes off of the intake manifold.
Steve.
hey guys!!!!

Add to the fact that sometimes when i give it gas the rpm rises quickly almost redline but the car doesnt move any faster. Is that the way turbos are,(this is my first)or is there something wrong? Please Help.
That is your clutch slipping. Don't give it stabs at the gas pedal until you get that replaced. Otherwise you'll shear off the rest of the material on the clutch and your car will go NOWHERE. I know because my dad did it for me, I still have it sitting in my room.
It should be around $500 for the clutch install (at least mine was). Go around the internet and find the best deal you can on a new flywheel and a new clutch kit for a WRX. Adam at Z1 Motorsports should be able to get you the best price on an Exedy flywheel. While you are at it, you might want to get STi engine/tranny mounts. At least the tranny mount (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED). It shouldn't be extra to install since they have to take all of those apart anyways. And make sure you get a WRX clutch AND flywheel.
I had to do the exact same thing soon after i got my car. You have no idea how fast your car is because it's about twice as fast with a new clutch. The STi tranny mount is a god send. And just wait until you get a lightened flywheel in there... if you can afford it of course.

Did you try to clear your codes and then recheck again afterwards? If not do this, follow joshs' directions. My friend had a huge list of codes and we did the reset method with the connectors and driving and they all cleared and didn't come back. Air Control Valve is the IAC valve and is underneath the PCV valve on the passenger side of the throttle body. Hope this helpsJr.SubaruLvr wrote:i'm sorry to bother all you guys but i did a check engine code read and got the following codes: 22,23,24,44,45,49. I looked up all those codes on Josh's website and found out what the are. However as i looked it up in my chiltons, it give me a useless picture that did not tell me anything.
I still cant find the knock sensor or the air control valve.Add to the fact that sometimes when i give it gas the rpm rises quickly almost redline but the car doesnt move any faster. Is that the way turbos are,(this is my first)or is there something wrong? Please Help. THANKS VERY MUCH.

Do you mean the one after the MAF and first bend, just before the pipe that goes into the turbo? If so it's another resonator.

WRX and Legacy turbo clutches are different. The WRX is bigger but not by much. If you use a flywheel and clutch for a WRX it fits fine, A WRX clutch won't fit on your flywheel. And you might have to replace the flywheel also, they crack when you run them with a slipping clutch.
