Wiring JDM Foglight switch question...........

Post by stipro »

First off I did a search and didnt really find what I needed. As far as the question, the wiring diagram shows the (US) switch having 5 pins, and the (Europe) switch having 6 pins.

What is the sixth pin for?, and are the 1-5 pins the same on both switches?

Any help would be great.

Ok, you have dash light in and out, power to fogs in and out and switch light ground. The schematic you linked to only has 5 wires coming from the switch.

Are you going to try and wire it into your factory lighting?

I am just tappng off dash lights and accessory power line and running an aftermarket relay.
Yes I have too many Subarus

Through trial and error, I figured that the sixth pin is an another switched power supply, for what......................... I dont know. Oh well, it will work for what I need it to do, turn my fog lights off and on :D

The sixth pin int he switch is for the fog lights to turn off when the high beams go on. Just like the newer cars. I did not use it .

Better off NOT using it. Complicates things.

Re-view my previous post.

Better off just using the five previously stated pins.
