I positively despise the look of carbon fiber, especially on interiors...just because of all the ricers

If I ever put a CF hood on something, I would paint it body color

Looks like you did a good job though!

i like it just because it adds contrans to the interior and kind of ties the grey and black parts together.

my thoughts exactly. +1

if I never used my cig lighter I'd try to make a "delete panel" that blends well with the dash.. not dissing you or anything, I just don't see the point in making a cig lighter delete panel with CF... weight savings? :smt041

A duckbill? Do you mean, like, an airdam; and actual duck bill, like for an art car; or a ducktail rear spoiler?

I liked the look of CF when it first came out as it's an interesting pattern, but now its cliche and assumes a role beyond that of a stylinsh dressing, making fake CF rice. It's too bad the damn ricers had to get a hold of it.

Looks like you do nice work.
I also question the point of it being CF, but you were bored, so whatever.

Now Carbon Kevlar, hopefully that isn't ever associated with ricers. A couple months ago I saw a rally prepped Evo that had full underbody CK panels.

You'll need something to stiffen the kevlar sheets since it doesn't get that rigid. I'd put it in my doors and trunk, then do a bank job.

I filled in my radio bezel with an aluminum panel, not as cool as that though. how hard is carbon fiber work and how much do the materials cost? ie fabric and resin

well i got a good size sheet for free from a friend, all i use is my Dremal with a little cutoff wheel, use it to cut it out rough, then shape it slowly checking fitment often.

i get it for free because its odd pieces that he can use for anything, he just will throw it away otherwise, its all made by hand also.

im going to make a few pieces for under the hood, and maybe exterior. im trying to talk him into making me a hood with a WRX scoop molded in, but i would need alot of people for him to do it, in a group buy, atleast 10-15 people before he would make one.

got bored one day and decided to play with a few extra pieces of Carbon fiber that i had sitting around too. I plan on installing EGT and Oil pressure gauges in the top piece once i get them. but it works nicely for the TT and the deck trim

It looks a little out of place with the rest of the dash with it just covering the holes, but looks like you did a nice job with it.
