There goes my last roo...*NOW STOLEN!!!*

Post by subawhatsubawho »

I went outside this moring to take my wife to work and the kids to school so I could use her car and I found my Mica Ruby red toy GONE! I just got done with the police and from the lugnuts we found on the ground we think whomever stole it just wanted the rims. So they took the whole car. Why take some lugnuts off if you are going to steal the entire car anyways???? What really pisses me off is that they got my in-dash DVD player minus the face! I had taken the speaker box, TV and amp out to go to mudfest.

There are only two other LCO members anywhere close to me so asking them for help is pointless.

If you see or hear about pieces from my car on ebay or craigslist or perhaps on other forums, please let me know. I live in Port St. Lucie, FL but the surrounding towns are Stuart, Ft. Pierce, Vero beach, Jupiter, Okeechobee. I don't imagaine they would have got too far with it as at 50mph it felt like it was going to shake apart due to me beating on it.

I went to mudfest today and was playing in the mud when I got stuck. I was pulled out by a jeep but first he ripped my bumper off because I didn't know the tow hook on the bumper was just for looks. I then attached it to the lower hook and was pulled out.

The car still runs and drives but it ain't pretty. I don't know if I will part it out, fix it, or put a hybrid tubular steel bumper on the front.

It also rides like ass now too. I think I F'ed the tie rods or hubs...or both.

This is the same one that I thought the tranny was dead in. Yes those are hoodpins. Yes they are real...yes they are functional. The pervious owner was in a front end colision and the hood wouldn't stay shut due the rad support being F'd. He had a ratchet strap holding it shut. The hood pins look much better then the strap. No the wheels are not for sale. I just bought them. I got the wheels and tires for $150.00 and they only have about 300 actual miles on them now.

My wife likes the car and wants me to keep it. I can't justify putting it back to stock (due to the rust) so I might go the tubular steel route...still thinking about it.

Need more input.

Poor little feller. You shouldn't have done that, he's just a boy.
( >< )
[/cartman]

I say if you can fix it for near or less what you paid for it, it's worth the rigging.

This next Sunday, I'll be heading out with the Orlando Jeep Club to go off-roading. But I'm not bringing a Scooby; I'm riding with a friend in his CJ with the 350 (fun!). Although, if I had some airbags and could raise Whitey, I would be driving too...it would probably confuse a lot of Jeep owners.

I would be sure to locate the lower "real" tow-hook before attempting such an outing, though, after seeing your photos. Damn. Didn't realize we have a faux hook - where is the one you hooked onto initially that ripped the bumper off?

Whaaaat? Dude. I'm not liking this string of Legacy thefts. And to take the car just for the rims, well that's just plain messed up.

WTF has happened to people?!?!

Man if I see some motherfucker driving your car I will run his ass off the road and beat the shit out of him. If he makes it to Orlando, that is. But he won't make it back...

WTMF! I can't believe this shit! I'd rather have my Mazda (or Lotus when I get one) stolen than my Subaru. More than ever I think car theft should be a death sentence (along with a lot of other things).

I guess to be as positive as I can unconvincingly muster, I know a guy in NJ who's daughter got carjacked. They shot her in the back as she ran away. She was 23. Somehow he resisted killing crack heads in scores. Must be all the pot. How's that positive ... oh yeah, at least no one was hurt.

Does this mean we shouldn't bother with locking lug nuts now? As they say, security is for the honest.

Damn Greg, like everyone else, WTF. Why has our car suddenly become so popular. Not enough blue WRX's to steal anymore? I mean, seriously.

Steve, woah. If it were my daughter that happened to, wow, I don't know what I'd do. Did they get the guys atleast?

Greg, I send my best wishes, this was the one the brakes were going on? I guess atleast they didn't get those too :-/. Good luck with getting your dear Subaru back.

As a side note, how stuck was your other Subaru when it ripped off your bumper with the hook that sticks there in the bumper? I've used it a few times before and the tow truck always used it to pull the car up. Like how much force was on the tow line when it ripped the bumper off?

And you all said it was a bad idea for me to carry firearms. . .

I'm not saying death is a fit punishment for the violation of a 1st gen legacy, but some kind of disabling mutilation seems fair. At least make it so the next car they steal better have one of those Braun wheelchair kits.

Too bad lynching has such negative connotations. :-/ what about Chakra torture?

This is fucking bullshit.

If someone steals one of my cars, they will die. I'm not kidding. I've worked too hard on the cars I have. Karma's not gonna hit below the belt and get away with it.

I'm doing deliveries all over the place in Orlando now, so if I see that car, I'll call the police right then and there.

Death penalty. There are way too many people in the world to bother putting up with thieving trash like that. Imagine how many hard core bullet-proof old Legacys we could build with the money they'd waste supporting the pricks in prison for just a year.

Anyway, they didn't catch the guys that killed Joe's daughter. He smokes a lot of pot and is a cool shit. I don't know how he maintains his humor (even with the smoking). He spends all his free time with his younger daughter and is very close to her, so maybe that's some kind of a bright side, though I don't know what his relationship with her was like before that.

I was driving my wife's car to work last night and I saw a car that looked like mine from the back, minus the wheels. I never see Legacys near me so this kinda weirded me out. I was going over a bridge when I spotted it going under it (overpass) so I had to fly over the brigge, whip the car around, fly back over the bridge (1 mile long) and then try and catch up with them. I finally did but it wasn't my car. :(

I did offer to buy it off them if they ever wanted to sell. It was an elderly couple and said I could have it for free when they die. I am under the impression they feel it is soon as they got my name, address, and phone number. I wonder if it will be in their will?

It was a 92-94 BJ...same color as mine.

Thanks again for all the support guys. It could have been someone from mudfest but I wouldn't even know where to start as there were thousands of people out there....and I was the only AWD car.

2 Mica Ruby red BJ's stolen in one week... :x

That guy is either stupid or ballsy. Repeatedly going back to the same parking lot to steal other cars...weird.

I'd wait for him with some friends if I thought he would show up. He'd be lucky to be able to walk again, let alone drive.
