92-94 EDM and JDM glass units?

I know not to use RHD headlight unit in a LHD car but i was wondering if you could bake off our plastic lense and put on a glass JDM or EDM lense? Will the glass have any affect on the beam pattern.

I thought it was the reflector element which produced the beam pattern, the back part of the headlight unit.
