There is glass on the ground where the side window was blown out. Look close. I don't see blood all over, so the driver may be ok. I imagine if it wasn't they would've been schooled in the head and that makes a mess. Hopefully there was only one person in the car. They might not have been stupid, either - maybe they were driving along and wind or something swung the gate out. Happens, though I've never seen that result.

you wouldn't see glass where the car sits because the gate is stationary and swinging on an axis. you are picturing it like the car was stationary and the gate went through the car. the glass I'm sure is under the car somewhere. I'm sure the car was slid out by along the axis of the post.

This happened on Sligo Creek Parkway in Wheaton, MD. Maybe you can figure out where, using Google Maps and the clues in the photograph? Here's the North end of Sligo Creek Parkway:
lol, I'm guilty of that. In my defense, they're yellow and do not glare much, as the cutoff is very very very low. I always leave my headlights on for visibility, and the fogs have a green LED on the switch that stays on if you don't have the fogs on

They actually can cause more glare than headlights, because there's roughly the same amount of light coming from a smaller area, and because it hits the ground at a grazing angle where the surface can reflect quite strongly, at least if it's wet.
Anyway, anybody having any success figuring out where this incident took place?

I use my fogs all the time when I don't need them so slow assholes will get the f*&% out of the way. The big yellow Hellas did a better job of that than the OEM Mazda3s, which pretty much only get people to move and don't seem to do anything in terms of helping in fog. The headlights, however, are the balls with almost no glare, so it's a fair trade. Mounting some Hellas would be so much easier than in the Legacy, but I don't need them, dammit.
