I have had this in and going for awhile, but I figured I should post pics.

I gave up my DIN tray, but this is WAAAAAY more useful!

mine wins on the stealth scale. I flipped my 1.5 DIN pocket upside down and mounted my boost gauge in there. STill trying to decide on what other gauge to put in there to be the most useful. I should take photos and post them sometime

edit: I was thinking how great that looks the entire time I was writing the post but somehow managed to leave it out. They look beatiful. Great job!

THe only thing that sucks about that is that you cant actually read them while you're driving.

I was thinking of making an enclosure where the pocket under the ashtray is to house 2 gauges tilted towards me. In the '91s, there is more room due to there not being an airbag computer there.

my 92 does not have an airbag computer, and that's exactly what i've done.

It's tilted up and towards me. I've also mounted the switch for my dual position manual boost controller.

I'm scared to get an egt gauge just because of worrying about the probe killing my turbo if it ever comes loose. That and they're fairly expensive. That's likely the only gauge that I'll need though other than that.

Normally the probes are made to screw into a fitting welded into the manifold. So I would worry less about the probe going into the turbo and worry more about a bad weld job dropping weld pieces into the turbo. The one I had done on my maxima is pretty much exactly how I am going to do the Legacy: find a correct threaded fitting for my probe. Weld it into the manifold. Take off the manifold and drill the hole through the fitting for the probe to go into. Lightly sand and install manifold. By doing it this way, none of the weld pieces can get into the header, and even if the weld comes loose, it will only wiggle around as the pieces together are too big to fit through the hole.

And as for seeing the gauges, they are quite within visual range. But since they are not the crucial ones, ( such as my boost and EGT ones) they are good where they are. I will be adding the Boost and EGT to the pillar pod very soon.

they should hide the dates on the threads so when some one like me brings up a really old one no one knows....

any ways i just bought a set of gauges (mechanical) (water temp, oil pressure, and alt meter) and i was woundering if any one had any pictures or information on where i should hook these things up to on the motor?

Water temp- I would go into the block heater location (if you don't have one) Oil pressure- either tap off the idiot light or try one of the oil filter sandwich adapters, and alternator/ voltage just pulls off the existing wiring
